“Roadside picnic” with two new actors
W. Earl brown (“Deadwood”) and Michael Lindell (“Defendant”) got cast in the drama pilot channel WGN America “roadside picnic”, based on the cult work of Soviet writers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. The actors joined previously approved for the lead role Matthew Goode (“Watchmen”). On it informs edition Deadline.
The events in “roadside Picnic” set in the distant future on Earth, where after a visit of the aliens left a lot of secrets and mysteries. In the center of the history of veteran Stalker red (hood), which is breaking the law, gets into the abnormal area to bring back artifacts for which pay good money. The story also asks the question about the purpose of the visit of aliens.
The script for the pilot written by Jack Pagenum (“Alien: Testament”), the Director will make Alan Taylor, “Terminator 5: Genesis”). Both will share the duties of Executive producers Neal H. Moritz (“the Preacher”).
Brown will play Buzzard, experienced and wealthy Stalker, self-proclaimed leader of their business of smuggling accomplices. Lindell got the role of the Tender, fearless former fighters, which accompanies the red in his foray into the “zone”.
In 1979, a famous Soviet film Director Andrei Tarkovsky directed the film “Stalker” based on the novel by Strugatsky, which had nothing to do with the content of the book, in addition to individual names, names and, in fact, mention of “zones”.
