In “roadside Picnic” will play actor of “Guardians”
Channel WGN America last year announced the launch of the series based on the novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky “roadside picnic”.
The Director of the blockbusters “Thor 2: the dark world” and “Terminator: Genesis” Alan Taylor will deliver the adaptation, and the main role this week was approved by Matthew Goode.
The book Strugatsky adapted Jack Paglen, which account for scenarios of films “Superiority” and “Alien: Covenant.”
The original story was first published in 1972 and talked about the Stalker Red Schuhart, whose main income is the sale possessing unusual properties mysterious artifacts handed down from the Area near the town of Harmont. These areas are scattered across the planet and are considered places of possible alien presence, showing itself in strange and incomprehensible way, and are the subject of scientific research by the people, and therefore closed to the public.
Red, played by Matthew Goode will be the mysterious “blue collar”, is full of contradictions. At one point he may be a quiet intellectual, and the other absolutely ruthless killer. Red loves his wife Guta and daughter Marie, who is a child of the Zone. Recently released from prison, red finds that his troubles are just beginning.
So far the only full-fledged film adaptation of “roadside Picnic” is considered a “Stalker” directed by Andrei Tarkovsky seven years after the book’s publication and was awarded the prize of the Ecumenical jury at the Cannes film festival.
Matthew Goode is no stranger to television actor, he recently starred in the final season of “Downton Abbey”, and spent two seasons on “the Good wife” and took part in the mini-series “Roots”. Among the film credits of the British actor — comic “Watchmen”, drama “the imitation Game” and the Thriller “because”.
