In Belgium 90-m to year of life has died the sculptor Olivier Strebel known composition with a fountain “Abduction of Europe” in Moscow. Today, his works adorn squares and streets of many European cities.
As reported the edition Soir, Strebel died July 29. The artist’s sculptures are in major Belgian cities like Antwerp, Brussels, Liege, NAMUR, and also in Asia and in the United States.
We will remind that in 2002 of Strebel donated to the Russia his abstract monumental composition of the fountain “Abduction of Europe”, which is set near the Kiev railway station in Moscow. Composition is a huge sheaf rose in the sky the silvery pipes of stainless steel. The opening of the fountain took place in September 2002.
Strebel is an honorary member of the Russian Academy of fine arts. He is also a holder of the Russian medal of Pushkin, which was awarded for the strengthening of Russian-Belgian relations.
