Critics suddenly defeated “suicide Squad”
Influential foreign publications, writing about film, published in the most scathing reviews the film “suicide Squad,” based on a series of popular comic books published by DC.
At the time of this writing, the rating pattern in the largest aggregator web site professional reviews RottenTomatoes was only 34 percent. Here are some excerpts from the texts about the film.
“The superteam of villains by David Ayer incredibly boring, uninspiring, and worst of all, it is absolutely not memorable,” wrote a reviewer of Vanity Fair, Richard Lawson.
“Amazing confusion, which never becomes as cool as he wants to seem, “suicide Squad” has assembled a team of the best supervillains, and does not know that with them to do” – echoes the author of the publication The Hollywood Reporter’s Todd McCarthy.
“Who stole the soul of “suicide Squad”? I assume it was a decision Ayers – prefer impotence and abandon his usual hurricane of action in favor of a PG-13 rating in the effort, rather, to curry favor with the audience, not to challenge him, or even hurt,” writes Rolling Stone reviewer Peter Travers.
Some authors proved to be more loyal, however, and they emphasize the obvious shortcomings of the project.
“For DC, which started this universe in the spring, when he released “Batman vs. Superman”, “suicide Squad” was a small step forward. But it could be a big step”, regrets the correspondent of the publication Entertainment Weekly Chris Nashawaty.
